Wondering about this. Haven't played yet, game en route. I know there are holes in some scenarios that might obviate picking up tiles, but other than that, it seemed like it might work. Is anyone doing this?
Another benefit from this style of lay is the focus on the current situation.
I have removed tiles in games where a particular tunnel or path is clearly not going to be used by either player. But this doesn't happen very often.
I have thought about photographing each of the tiles and then printing smaller versions of each tile for the times I'm playing on a smaller table. But like all of my "good" ideas, this is never gone much beyond the idea stage.
