Sting is an attachment that says (in part):
Response: After Bilbo Baggins exhausts to defend, discard the top card of the encounter deck. Deal damage to the attacking enemy equal to the discarded card's threat. In the scenario Over the Misty Mountains Grim, we had Sting attached to Bilbo and The Goblins' Caves was the active location. The Goblins' Caves says:
While the Goblins' Caves is the active location, Goblin enemies get +1 threat. So, if Bilbo defends, and sting discards an encounter card, and a goblin enemy is discarded, is its threat increased? And is the damage dealt increased? I'm not sure if a card being discarded counts as a goblin enemy, or if it's just a goblin enemy card.
This came up many times, because that deck is just full of goblins, and we were stuck in The Goblins' Caves for quite a while.
