A simple review for a simple to learn game. Basically if you like Yahtzee, you'll like this. This is Yahtzee with a twist. The game plays the same, 5 dice, 3 rolls, choose to keep certain dice based on categories to strive for. The twist is each die is a hollow, transparent die which contains a smaller solid die inside. That's right! A die inside a die. When you roll the dice you get certain combinations of things and based on that you go for certain categories, such as Odds, meaning both the inner and outer die have an odd number. The top half of the scoring sheet is similar to Yahtzee. You have to go for 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s and 6s. The difference here is you count the 1s (for example) on all 10 of the dice (both inner and outer). You get a bonus if you have a 1 on each of the double dice (either inner or outer) which allows you to total all the numbers on the dice. And if you have 1s showing on all the inner or all the outer, you total all points and double your score.
The lower half categories are somewhat interesting.
Odds - total all dice where the inner and outer die have an odd number
Evens - total all dice where the inner and outer die have an evennumber
Lo in/hi out - total all dice where the number on the inner die is lower than the outer die
Hi in/lo out - total all dice where the number on the outer die is lower than the inner die
Lucky seven-eleven - total all dice where the inner and outer add up to 7 or 11.
One away - total all dice where the inner and outer dice are one away from each other (ie 2 and 3)
Double Dice - all cubes that have the same number on the inner and outer, you get 25 points per dice. If all 5 cubes are double dice, you double the score for a total of 250!
For all the lower half categories, you get double if all 5 double dice meet the category.
It's quick and like Yatzee keeps you rollin' those dice to try and get better scores. It's a nice little twist on a classic game!
