I will be in Spencer, Iowa on business off and on through late January. I am looking for gamers interested in playing boardgames, etc. on weeknights. Let me know if there are any groups or individuals interested. Thanks!

That is a pretty small town. I can't imagine you will find many gamers. I used to go to school in Sioux City and there was a little bit of a gaming scene there.

I'll be there (actually Okoboji) in the summer...

Make sure you check out the Okoboji Winter Games in January, although I guess they had cancel it last year because it was too warm (seems unlikely).

Is 11,000 *that* small? Maybe my Midwestern instincts are skewed, having grown up in an Iowa town of 5,000 and falling, but it seems like there should be *something* going on in Spencer. The question is where to find it. The whole area up there's built around the summer traffic, too, which doesn't help the OP.

I grew up in an Iowa town of 5000 too. 11,000 is pretty tiny in the gaming world. I don't know a city under 50,000 that has a gaming store, barring college towns.

We've got a decent sized group in Marshall Minnesota, just a bit north of you... It's a town of 13,000 but we have a college which makes a difference.
