BattleCON isn't actually listed in the article, but is at the very top of their games and ratings screen grab.

Even more peculiar. The post is filed under "battlecon" in addition to some of the other games that are actually mentioned.

Hey, no publicity is bad publicity! Haha, and it's great to see it at the top of the list like that

Hmm, I learn a few things from this.

* It does make sense to apply some sort of discount for games with few voters. They are going strictly by average vote. They imposed a cutoff of 100 votes, which makes all of these games reasonable, but should Carcassonne Big Box 3 really be ranked so much higher than the base Carcassonne? (Maybe it should, I don't know...) I continue to think BGG does this discount too drastically.

* What counts as a "children's game" is odd. Schafkopf, for instance, only appears on the list because a single voter voted it as being suitable for ages 8+. I had certainly never thought of BattleCON as a children's game, though I suppose it would have some of the appeal of Magic.

* I'm still all for anything that gets parents to branch out from Candyland!

It did say BattleCON was recommended for ten year olds and up. At ten, I was playing the Yu Yu Hakusho card game and Heroclix, so I could see a ten year old liking BattleCON.
