Does anybody remember the name of-, or had a game from long ago:

It came out on the heels of the first star wars move.. It had a board with planets surrounded by space areas, and each player got a race card - I cannot remember much else besides a purplish gorilla race who were perhaps wookies?

Each player got a bunch of flying saucers, either white or yellow, and you warped from planet to planet. I was too young to play it, but I played with the flying saucers and loved the art.

Does anybody remember the game?

When I heard the learn’d astronomer; When the proofs, the figures, were ranged in columns before me; When I was shown the charts and the diagrams, to add, divide, and measure them; When I, sitting, heard the astronomer, where he lectured with

much applause in the lecture-room, How soon, unaccountable, I became tired and sick; Till rising and gliding out, I wander’d off by myself, In the mystical moist night-air, and from time to time, Look’d up in perfect silence at the stars. W.W.

Shadowlord!

(This doesn't sound quite like a match to what you are describing.)
