For a game design, I need a d6 but numbered zero through five. I'm sure I have seen these before. Can anyone help me out with a source?

Easy Come, Easy Go has them.

I'm sure some dice places do, esp. for homeschoolers, if not game supply stores.

Blanks, a Sharpie, and a steady hand.

Or, "white out" the six, then "sharpie" in a zero.

Or,(easier), connect the six dots with a "Sharpie", and youl have a squarish zero. It ain't rocket science.

Split Second has a 1-5 and a blank side.

In the past I have used blank dice from a teacher supply store (TAPS is the one in my area) print numbers out onto any type of label and stick them on. You also could do this with a regular dice.

The dice for Hard Vacuum are numbered 0 to 5. They seem to have some here:

You can use a knife to scrape the paint from the pips of a regular d6 to create a custom die.

A tutorial I wrote (for Sports Illustrated Baseball): http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/122066

As grey traces of dawn tinge the eastern sky, the three travellers, men of Willowdale, emerge from the forest's shadow. Fording the river, they turn south, journeying into the dark and forbidding lands of The Necromancer...

The much-maligned (unfairly, IMNSHO) Avalon Hill game of Sword & Skull features two dice numbered 1-5 with a blank side.

Buy every Paydirt and Superstar Baseball you can find. All of them have exactly one.

Less jokingly: if one is all you are looking for, I think I have a spare.

Ooh a little higher, now a bit to the left, a little more, a little more, just a bit more. Oooh yes, that's the spot!

In roleplaying terms that would be called d6-1

I assume RPG companies were either cheapskates with their components or figured that the players could do the maths

Since it seems to have mystified some, I was specifically looking for several 0-5 die to use in "Up Front". I want to replace the cumbersome relative range chits (coincidentally numbered zero through five) with a single die.

Why don't you just d6-1 it?

Honest question. No sarcasm.

That works too but since there are actual 0-5 dice available I thought those would be the more elegant solution. I'm going to GenCon SoCal soon, maybe there will be some there. meeple

The game Pickomino has eight dice numbered 1-5, with the sixth side showing a worm.

If it's not too hard to remember that the worm stands for zero, these dice should work just fine.

Not so much due to my lack of memory (although at my age that could be a factor) but Up Front's relative range runs from 0 to 5 so dice showing that range would be the ideal solution.

When I need special dice but can't easily find what I want I simply make my own by using blank dice and applying stickers. Be sure to wash (and dry) the dice first so that the stickers will adhere well. Use a good brand of stickers/labels (just about any size will do since you are going to cut them down to size). Laminate the stickers before applying so that the ink does not rub off and dirt doesn't stick to the paper surface (clear contact paper also works).

Many stores sell blank dice. I have bought them from rpgshop.com (they seem to be out of blank ten sided dice right now, but do have d6 in various colors).
