I'm looking for stuff to replace the paper details in Runebound with something more eye-catching and touch friendly.
When I went looking for a place to buy copper, silver and gold coins (of course not real gold and silver but look alike) on the Internet, all I could find was sales of antique coins and articles. Does any one know where to look?

Too funny. I just bought some items the other day to enhance RuneBound.

I found an excellent source for those flat glass gems and neat acrylic gemstones (that could be used in place of money). The site has a bunch of different colors and materials and is incredibly cheap.

The two items I ordered were "glass gems" and "acrylic nuggets".

I don't know about eye catching but a decent set of poker chips are touch friendly. One downside to the "touch friendliness" of poker chips is that everybody around the table will fidget with them.

Actually, I think you should go with REAL copper, silver, and gold coins. That would definitely make your gaming group.

Now that I think about it, I'm moving to Sweden REAL soon and would LOVE to join your gaming group. But only when you're playing with your precious metal coins.

Those acrylic gemstones would look really neat on the board. Thanks.

If you bring gold coins you're very welcome indeed.

All those coins are often available on eBay too - use search terms like "pirate doubloons".

Now I heard a rumor that I'm getting some pirate coins for xmas... please don't bid higher than anyone named "Thorpe"!

They kinda remind me of the gems in Niagara.
Might even be the same thing (and I love those gems in Niagara).

Those coins would be perfect for any fantasy game like Runebound (or any pirate game ofcourse). It's a pity the shipping cost to Sweden is 25$ when the total sum for coins I was about to buy was 30$.

Is there any stores in Europe that sells coins like the ones on www.deadmentellnotales.com, the shipping costs from USA is kind of huge.

What size did you order? And were they the same as the ones in Niagara/Ubongo?

Thanks for the tip -- that is a great source!
