It's based off of a good book, too. I'd recommend it.

While sifting through the Post Apocalyptic reading from another thread, I got to the point about the book "I AM LEGEND" by Richard Matheson that I've been wanting to read soon. Just to find out that another film adaptation is being done for 2007 starring Wil Smith. They say it'll be closer to the "Omega Man" adaptation than the book. But I also dug Omega Man with Charlton Heston, so maybe will be a winner!

I Am Legend is a fine book & could be made into a very good movie but, after initial hopes, I don't think this new version will be it. Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but it looks like being a typical Hollywood blockbuster rather than the character film it should be.

Being it's Wil Smith I gather it's going to take a blockbuster attitude rather than art house. But oh well. They said that Omega Man was an adaptation of "I Am Legend", but ended up being "Hollywooded" as well. I'll still be interested in seeing where it goes.

I guess I'll read the book first, so that I can be a jaded fan and moan about it when it comes out.

Pan's Labyrinth is a great movie, we saw it last week.

Be careful all you subtitle-phobes as this is in Spanish.

Danny Boyle typically makes pretty interesting (usually decent, mostly awesome) flicks. I'll have to try to remember this one. Thanks for the heads up.

300-
A few small problems , not least the jockstraps and naked shaven chests ..gulp..."I'm not homophobic honest!!" plus I notice a nasty element of frank millers work is extreme extreme violence in a almost worshipping type of way .Stick with the graphic novel.Plus the spartens were a rather arrogant people , I'm glad they don't exist anymore actually.Very anti-persian anti-oriental type movie.

Eragon -
Is basically a star wars ripoff plot wise ,and my wife watched the eragon forum boards recently as one person ending up trying to commit sucide from being flamed etc .The movie contains some awful dialogue ,terrible plot and is not true to the book , avoid please save your money.

Pathfinder --
Good old ripping roaring fun in the style of pearl harbour, , quote my wife who teaches about nordic culture at university level "utter bollocks !!" , good for ben affleck style fans Want something worse try the 13th warrior .Save your cash !!

Apocalypto-
a amusing parody ...but this is the best of the bunch I would say ..please advise if you have seen it

Whoa... the Spartans weren't worse than anybody else around that time, and it's not an "Anti-Persian" movie, that's a ridiculous statement. The Persians did try to subdue all Greece, and 300 Spartans (plus some inconsequential others ) did do their damndest to delay them several days. And Xerxes was more arrogant than all the Spartans combined I'd say

If you wanna pick a fight with a real Pelopophile I'm game, but you leave my beloved Spartans alone

I'm not a huge fan of anime, but sometimes like Akira, Steam Boy, and Spirited Away, a good movie comes out. This one look interesting coming out at the end of May(25th):

Ok, I bring this up as Logans Run is on my top 5 movies list. This could go terribly wrong, but hey, still cool:

The next one is a new Philip K. Dick written short story "The Golden Man" adaptation movie called "Next". I know, it has Nicolas Cage, but hey, maybe decent. Scifi is SciFi.
