I normally play with a friend's copy and can't seem to find this info offhand. How many trains are there of each type in 1846? Thanks!

My favorite 18xx game for six players is two games of 1846 with three players each.

Or, if you want an algorithm, the number of brown trains equals the number of players. The number of green trains is one more than that, and the number of yellow trains is two more (not counting the ones that come with Michigan Southern and Big 4.)
