I played it that way for 3 full games when I first bought it. Its a blast and almost needed before you can teach it to others.

After awhile though you need to get your friends involved cause thats when it gets really interesting.

ditto - I played solitaire for two games, and it was pretty essential to being able to teach. A lot more fun with real opponents, though. But I'm not much for solitaire gaming, so I can't say how it compares with others.
