I was suppose to write Arabic Words, but BGG don't sport that, so you have to live up with this..

Ok, So I got this game recently, and I have just finished reading the rule book which mentions that there will be scenarios for the game.

I tried to search for those but no luck, would appreciate if anyone could get me some feedback regarding that matter?? did they even publish those scenarios in the first place ??

You can find some rules variants by looking in the online version on www.yucata.de. There are different rules to try out grouped in A, B and C catergoies if you pick the "Playtesting of rules variants" option (I think the computer picks one from each group, if you use random rules generator - you could do the same with a die). And some unofficial rules to try at the end (which suggest the ABC are official ones).

I guess you could say he delivered a whole other game to buy instead.

I'm kindda shocked by that, cause when a designer makes a promise in the rule book you would expect he would keep that promise otherwise it affects his reputation!!!

Yeah, that'd be it.

Yeah, that'd be it.

I thought so, I gave that one a try during last Essen but a friend of mine suggested to go with this one first.

Thanks for the feedback man.

Cool. Let us know how it goes. Just give it a go, before looking at variants yet. Just stay out of the strategy forums, and explore the game. A good deal of mileage there.

As Carsten said, some rule/scenario changes are on Yucata.de (which is great, btw). Most of those were, I believe, taken from fan suggestions, and can be fantastically swingy. Just play with the game, and try different things.

I have Mythotopia, but have sadly not had a chance to try it.

I checked the Variants in yucata, and it seems that it makes the game more different for those that played the original game more than enough

I can relate to the fact that you want something new for a game that you really enjoy. I think I will print those variants and include them in my game box just in case I reached that stage, for the time being I think my wife and I will be doing a lot of battling with the original rules.

I suggest you open your Mythotopia and give it a try, the fact that more than 2 players can play the game makes the game very engaging but put in mind that there has been major changed in comparison to A Few Acres of Snow, which is a something I kept hearing for 2 hours from my friend while we were playing Mythotopia in Essen, I guess he didn't like the new rules. But you wouldn't be able to judge until you see it for yourself.

I hope you get to play it soon

Let me know how it goes...

I love AFAoS, and enjoyed Mythotopia and having more than two players.

It seems the variable rules cards were what Martin Wallace profferred as scenarios. They actually do work to adjust the game balance and make you rethink your strategy, but I have a hunch the idea of different starting locations was overcome by Halifax Hammer-related events.

That said, there's a fan-written historical scenario that's posted here:
http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/760847/1638-or-new-haven-sce...

I've never had an experienced enough in-person opponent to try it.
