Bay Area Games Day is an ongoing series of daylong open gaming sessions held in the San Francisco Bay Area. We play all sorts of strategy games: German-style boardgames such as Settlers of Catan, Antiquity, and Puerto Rico, Avalon Hill-style multiplayer games such as Civilization and History of the World, wargames, and a variety of collectible and non-collectible cardgames.
A full list of the games played at the last couple Games Days are available as geeklists here:
The next Games Day will be at the Los Altos Public Library this Saturday, October 28, 2006, from 10 a.m. until late until the night.
Expect to see some of the new Essen releases.
Gaming will be in the library's Community Room, which is just off the lobby in the southeast corner of the building. Entry is free, but a small ($1) donation to the library will be appreciated. The library is in the Civic Center complex at 13 S. San Antonio Road (east side of the road), just south of the intersection of San Antonio and Edith. The library is located within walking distance of downtown Los Altos and within a short drive of El Camino.
There is a Web page for Games Day at
(note the new URL).
Hope to see you all there. Mark your calendars for the other upcoming Games Days on December 16 and January 20.

I will have a variety of Age of Steam maps to play, both prototypes, the new 20,0000 Leagues Under the Sea modular map from this year's Essen, and many others.
