Hello,

We just play The Resistance for the first time.
We was 5 persons and at one moment we conclude, that the spies can always win the 5 or 7 players games, by simply rejecting every mission without at least one of them.

So if they are chosen then will fail the mission, but if they don't they all always reject it.

And of course the other players will know who are the spies. But they can't do nothing about it.

So is there mechanism letting the good members out of this "dead point"?

In a 5 player game there are 2 spies and 3 resistance so on a 2 mission or 3 mission if you pick the resistance players you win.

There are only 2 spies in the 5-player game. How can they reject a team if all rebels vote for it? It's a majority vote, not a veto.

...Except propose missions with 2 or 3 Resistance members (4 in 7 player games) and get a guaranteed win, you mean?

It sounds like you've done something wrong somewhere.

At home, we play with an extremely experienced group, and funnily enough, we find exactly the opposite. In a 5-6 player group, the spies tend to be easy to spot, simply down to the fact that there are less people to read, and less deduction in general

No, the only highly rated broken game on BGG is A Few Acres of Snow.

Hm, maybe we didn't count the votes correctly.

What did (5 person game):
- Leader is choosing 2 or 3 players to go on a mission.
- 4 players are voting.
We exclude the leader's vote. As obvious is supporting the mission.
And this is how we end up 2 on 2 every time.

So, do you count also the leader vote?

Yes the leader is allowed to vote.

This is often a wrong assumption.

Of course. And don't assume that leader is "obviously supporting the mission". Our recent game was epic - i was the leader, suspected two people, put them on the mission, and then rejected it. The look on their faces when they saw three rejections was something...
