There was a post earlier in the year about this... and there may be a recent one....

I don't want to limit myself to just wargames, but any wargamers going to BGG.con? What are you all bringing? Anyone "scheduling" games?

I can bring and would like to play: Shifting Sands, Rommel in the Desert, The Conquerors: Alexander the Great (haven't played yet), EF2, WW2: Barbarossa to Berlin.

Several wargames are on the special game sign-up list.

From the link you provided:

1. Roads and Boats
2. Tales of the Arabian Nights
3. Traders of Genoa, The
4. Händler, Die
5. Macher, die
6. Twilight Imperium 3
7. Bang
8. Battlestations
9. Magic Realm
10. Mare Nostrum - Mythology
11. Canal Mania
12. Terra Prime
13. Homestead
14. Dune
15. Acts of the Disciples
16. Indonesia
17. Republic of Rome
18. Shogun
19. Fortress America
20. Blood Feud in New York
21. Full Metal Planete

Not sure this is what I would consider "wargames". Maybe there is more to the list than meets my eye, but I think Robert meant something a little more hardcore than Bang! for a wargame.

Yep Smee... I meant games like the ones I posted above. But I'll probably add them to that list.

I'll be carting along some of my wargames to the Con as well.

ASL Starter Kits #1 and #2
Sword of Rome (Read the rules but haven't played)
Up Front (Just got this)
C&C Ancients (Read the rules but haven't played)

Hopefully they will see some table time at the con, But there are so many games and only 4 days to play them all...

-Will

Will, I'll chase down your avatar. I want to try Up Front (can't wait for MMP to publish the new version), and have tried Sword of Rome once (it was really GOOD...need more players though).

I'd be interesting in trying some the wargames discussed above. I was hoping to try Pax Romana or Here I Stand, but I'm open to others. Guess I'll have to print out a bunch of rules and read them between now and next week.

I hope to bring the 5th player expansion for Sword of Rome to the convention if hopes that I can get it played a few times.

I would love to play some Here I Stand as long as half of the table was experienced at the game.

John, Now that's what I'm talking about!

But like I posted on the geeklist at the top, if I play at least EastFront and Barbarossa to berlin, the wargamer side of me will be happy.

I would love to play EastFront. I would also like to learn ASL starter kits and B2B. I'm also hoping to get in on a 5 player SoR.

I've already signed up for so many games it looks like scheduling may be an issue.

I'll be teaching a few people how to play Up Front during the con.

I'm also pressuring my roomie to teach me EastFront, I'll see I get anywhere with that.

Barring that I'll be generally up for a wargame, sure! I'll keep my eyes open for your badge. Though I'm trying to avoid tying myself down into rigerous schedules. I much prefer liesurely gaming, taking breaks, eating, etc. over taxing myself on my only real vacation!

Hey same here.... I am only committed to a few shorter euros, and only one big wargame (EastFront ....although the rules are still kinda sketchy in my head).
