Fred and Andy arrived as we were finishing up VOLLDAMPF. When asked for requests, Brad piped up MODERN ART. We haven’t played this one in quite a while, and Fred really likes it too. Playing MODERN ART with Fred is always an adventure, as it is quite unpredictable what he will do (e.g. bidding up the price on a fixed price painting….). Playing with Master Bradford, Nine Year Old of the Universe, however, beats all. Oh man. He was the wild
card. If any Lite Metal paintings came up, he would bid ALL HIS MONEY for it. Carl did his best not to exploit this. Fred accidentally did this once (no, really), getting $100 for a light metal. He also made some silly
decisions and sold other paintings ridiculously cheap in fixed price auctions. I finally started smacking him with a flyswatter. Later on, Andy explolited Brad’s Lite Metal fetish to garner himself a quick $121 and get back into the game. He got smacked too. Brad’s presence made this game odd…the scores were unnaturally high. In addition, Lite Metal placed in each of the four rounds.
