Hello all.

I have a general question for the BGG community.

I am looking to attend a gaming con sometime this year, and need some suggestions.

requirements---

1. Sometime between August and December.

2. Some other con, besides GenCon, looking for a bit smaller.

3. Within an hour or two of Wisconsin, stay in the Midwest please.

4. Would like a con that has a focus on board games.

I have been looking, and have not found much at all. I need a little help from you guys.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Wil

P.S. Do anyone know when Con of the Castle is this year?

Check out Grand Con. It's in Michigan. I have not been yet, but I am hearing GREAT things about it. The guys who run it are awesome!

Thanks,

Only ones I know of are 1) Octo Con and 2) Anime Midwest

1- Unfortunately, this was referred to me by a gaming member, so don't know if it's possible to get this online. I could ask around if interested.

Roughly all day gaming on a Sat.

About 30 minutes east of Chicago staying on I-90

not really a con by some stretch of its definition... you've got a church with 6 to 9 tables of gaming going on in the basement, and another 6 to 9 tables of games on the ground floor.

2- near Chicago

weekend

Mostly about anime and comics. has panels. Minority of it is boardgaming though, like maybe several rooms of 2 to 4 tables each.

Gaming Hoopla

It's in Milwaukee now (formerly held in Janesville). There's a Spring con in April and a Fall con in September (?). Great smaller con, something like 300 to 500 people if I recall. In terms of focus, probably 80% board games and 20% RPGs.
