Well, having been excited about this game for some
months now and having imported it from Italy, I finally
was able to play last night. How was it?

I liked it. I wish I could say I loved
it but I have to play it more to be sure.

That being said I'm very glad I bought it. It fills
a quick, silly game void I had in my collection.
There is definitely a lot of laughing.

We played 8 people. 3 players a team and the 2 coaches.
It's very frantic and loud!

I was excited that the box said up to 15 but I think
realistically 8 is the magic number. With 3 players on a team
each player has to control two of the soccer players. They have
to juggle the 2 names in their head to be listening to, with a
full squad of people playing everyon could just focus on the
one name to listen for which would eliminate some of the
confusion. In this game confusion=fun.

This definately works with non gamers too.

One caution: I found those wearing loose fitting long sleeve clothing
tended to knock player pawns over.

Also, I would like to see some version of this with some more meat to it.
As it stands now it basically is a race. Defense is non existent. Seems
like there should be a way to trip up the other team somehow.

One last point, the advanced way to play is to move the players in order
from your goal to the opponents and not move them in any way you choose.
I didn't see how this made a difference in any way as far as difficulty is concerned.

Overall,
I recommend everyone get this. The question becomes is it worth importing
now or waiting for lower priced US edition? Personally I'm very happy
I imported.

p.s. game is completely language independant with English rules on website.

Thank you for the nice review. After reading the rules I also thought that 6 or 8 players would be the best numbers. There is one optional rule that offers an option for some defense: if there is an opposing player on the same square as the shooter, the number needed on the die roll is one point higher.

A couple of questions: what did you think of the components? I saw a couple of pictures where the players' stands seem to be wooden and some others where they seem to be plastic (less nice). Are the players cardboard?

How long did it take for you to receive the game?

Thank you in advance.

The player stands were plastic. Players are cardboard.

It took about 3 weeks to arrive.

Hmm, must have skipped the defense part, but
it still seems arbitrary. Defense is not reacting
but just happens to be there. I'll have to try it before
dismissing it though.

We sometimes play that if a defendant is in the same square of the footballer shooting the ball, it adds +1 to the roll.
