I bought this game a few weeks ago and it has hardly been on the shelf since.
We played it 7 times on the first weekend.
It is quick, plays in about 30 minutes
Setup time is super quick, about as long as it takes to shuffle a deck.
It is an excellent blend of secret set collection and auctions
It is good for all ages, my 7 yr old regularly beats me.
It is suspenseful, no one knows who is going to win until the last minute of the game
It is simple to learn but hard to master, so many strategies in a small box.
It has great artwork and card quality
It's good value for $$$
It is an all round winner in our house, and everyone I have introduced it to wants to play it again, and again, and again.
Go get it, you'll love it !

Bought this when Amazon discounted it a few days ago to $18.35. Played it last night with my wife. It gets all kinds of praise as a two player game, but I just didn't see it.

We'll see if it works better with more.

It does?? I think this is a wonderful game with 3 or 4 players, but I don't think it's very good with 2.

I enjoyed it with 2 but I think it is best at 4.

Haven't played it with 2, but it needs at least 3 for the auctioning.
3 and 4 players is fantastic

And I'll add my vote that the game is much better with three or four.

So I'll be the voice of disention and say that this is that rare auction game that works well with two. Happy to play it with any player count . . .

Okay please dont bash me for this...I am not liking this game. Its a lot of push your luck and some deduction and guesswork. I am not finding anything phenomenal. Its not much better than things like For Sale imo. At least in that, you can control your fate more.

Each to their own, it's a shame but you don't like it, but we are all gonna like different games.
I never thought of it as a push your luck game but I can see where you get that.
how many games did you play ?

Ive played a few 2, 3, and 4 player games each. I thought of it as press your luck because you see a card that may be decent and have to decide whether to take it or risk something better/worse. I didnt really care for this kind of gameplay, though I understand the risk mitigation behind it.

Its a decent game, but for a filler, I would personally rather play Splendor, 7 Wonders, or For Sale.

Fair enough indeed.
I wouldn't call 7 wonders a filler, and Splendor was bland to me with a pasted on theme. Our group wouldn't play a second game of it.
But each to their own, that's what makes the gaming community interesting.
