I am enjoying the game (2 plays so far), but it is really annoying when people draw new cubes on their turn: everything stops then, when they have to analyze the new cubes and figure out how to allocate them. So, I propose this:

Any effects that give you additional cube draws are resolved at the end of your turn.

It's a pretty big change, but it sure would speed up the game!

That's a really cool idea! I'm going to try it on my next play... :)

Any reason NOT to do it this way? It would appear to solve not only the problem where cube draws slow everything down, but also one or two of the more abusive "fast reset" strategies.

I tried it. I think it might work OK, but it messes with the timing early on. I think it may need a bit of a modification: maybe give people additional cubes as well?

How did it mess with the timing early on? Has anyone else tried this?

It's been a while and I haven't played it since, so I don't remember for sure. But I think the problem was that with only a few cubes in the bag, people were having problems generating a bunch of cube draws only to find not enough cubes left in the bag at turn end?

Wow, you havent played since April? Any reason why you havent played for so long?

Also, wouldnt running out of cubes to draw be the same whether it's at the beginning or end of your turn?

I like other games better!

And generally, yes, but with only a few cubes in the bag I think people were running into the problem more with the variant. bUt really, it's been so long that I don't exactly remember the rules, or the details of why this was a problem.
