Re: advanced variant..... So outside the simple ethic of not cheating, there really isn't anything that prevents a player from keeping rather than discarding drawn cards that are already "completed according to present board state", just to use them as completed objectives down the road. Am interested how other players respond to this issue. And whatever is "current board state" in regards to Panda objectives.

Don't play games with people who cheat at light family games.

We find it easier to NOT use the advanced rule when playing at home because 1) my husband freaks out that there's no way to REALLY know if someone is cheating or not since it's the honor system and 2) sometimes people cheat unintentionally by not realizing that their card matches the current board state.

So we only play with the advanced rule when we play on online at Board Game Arena, since the computer can keep track of the whole cheating issue.

Regarding the panda objectives, they are NOT included under the advanced rule, so you can fill your stomach with all the bamboo you want and just keep drawing panda objective cards until your hand is full. Your "stomach" is not part of the board.
