I've wanted to try a four player game structured like Bang: the card game.

Player One (Empire/Sherrif)
Player Two (Scrum/Renagade)
Player Three and Four (Rebels/Outlaws)

Rebels win if Empire is taken Out.
Scrum Wins if Empire is taken out after the Rebels.
Empire Wins if They are the last faction standing.

Regretfully, I live in China and only have one other person in my circle who plays so I'll have to wait for a few years till I get back to the States before I could try it. But....For you who have played larger games, do you think this could work or would it be to much?

With how you've written it, Scum can't win. Scum would win if the Empire is knocked out after the Rebels... but if the Rebels are knocked out, the Empire wins.

I think the best way to play three-or-more-player games would just be a free-for-all. Last faction standing. That way, alliances will form and break dynamically over the course of the game.

Oops my bad. It has been a while since I played Bang. If I recall the Empire/sheriff has to also take out the Renagade/Scrum to win.

I do agree that a free for all would be a blast. I have yet to try a large scale game.

I like the idea, but you would need to give the Imperials more points than the Scum otherwise the Scum will win anytime the Rebels are knocked out.
It'd have to be something like:
Empire 100 points or 90 in a four player game
Rebels 120 points or 60 each in a four player game
Scum 60 points

But it'd require some testing to see if it'd be balanced. The good thing is you need only the Most Wanted to play the Scum in this set up.

You could do something like this:
2 Rebels
1 Imperial
1 Scum

Rebels win together if both the Imperial and Scum players are eliminated.
Imperials win if both Rebel players are eliminated.
Scum win if the Imperial player and one of the Rebel players are eliminated.

The Empire(Sheriff) should have a larger force than everyone else.

Player 2 would be Rebel(Outlaw) and their win condition is to destroy the Empire.

Player 3 would be Scum(Renegade), who counts as an Outlaw, but only wins if they are the last man standing. (Meaning, necessarily, that they take out the Sheriff last).

Player 4 is an additional Rebel.

Player 5 is either Scum or Empire, and plays as the deputy (wins if the Empire wins).

The downside is that in Bang, there is a chance of shooting the wrong person, as the roles are unknown.

Hey mate, a bit off topic, but where do you get your X-wing stuff in China, and is it any cheaper there? I'm off to China in a week, and wouldn't mind picking up some expansions while I'm there...

I have most my stuff brought in by friends and family or buy it on TaoBao, but you do pay more on TaoBao. It runs on average 105¥ for small ships which averages out around $17. So I'd say buy before you come.
