So, I am really liking the M3-A. It has a lot of potential, but it is also going to go down fast with all of the range 3 no bonus attacks coming its way (and Gunner/IG 88Bs). So, Serissu is a must...but then she becomes a major target. The simple answer is a stealth device, but once it is gone you are back to sqaure one. So, I thought up this little (untested) bueaty.

Serrisu + Heavy Syck + Swarm Tactics + MC
Tansarii Point Veteran + Heavy Syck + Body Guard + MC (x2)
N'dru Suhlak + Lone Wolf + Stealth Device

The Veterans are going to want to Focus most of the time anyway. Serissu gives them a defense reroll and one of them a PS8 at begining of combat. At that point eiter both Veterans can give Serissu a +1 to agility. One can give it to the other (because of ST), and the other one to Serissu, or they can use use the focus for attack/defense. It gives you a lot of flexibility.

N'dru is only one point more than a rookie at this point. Albeit with 3 agility, and a re-roll on attack and defense. Won't be very hard to keep at range 2 and will be a great flanker/distraction.

I know it is really fragile, but with the extra defense and three ships firing at PS 7 and above it can hit pretty hard.

Grrr...I overlooked the stupid bullet by the name.

Okay, slight adjustment. Not quite as much flexibilty, but three ships firing at PS8 with Magler cannons is nice. Laetin gets harder to hit the more you miss.

Serissu + Swarm Tactics + "HS" + Mangler
Laetin + VI +"HS" + Mangler
TPV + Body Guard + "HS" + Mangler

N'dru + Lone Wolf + Stealth Device.

I think a good way to keep Serissu alive is to keep the upgrades off of her. Use bodyguard for one escort, and make the other escorts hard hitters with Manglers or HLCs. In this way, you create some targeting confusion, as taking Serissu out will make it easier to clean up the rest of the squad, but it doesn't really lower the offensive power of the escorts. So it might be better to take out the bodyguard with cannon first...

Yeah, PTL to Focus and Evade should do it with Stealth Device. That or Hull Upgrade.

This is the same question TIE Swarm players have been asking since wave 1: How many points do you spend protecting your linchpin? I'd recommend NOT putting a cannon on Serissu, since she isn't there for her gun, and the more points you put on her, the bigger a target she becomes. PtL + Stealth (or Hull) is one option, but as with Howlrunner, often just a Stealth Device, with either Evade or Focus (kept for defense) is enough of a deterrent to give your opponent a tough decision as to which ship to prioritize. Besides, you don't want to limit your options by being stressed. Obviously Determination isn't as good on a Scyk as it was on TIE Fighters, but a combination of Draw Their Fire and/or Bodyguard on nearby ships could work nicely.

I would consider using GURI in VIRAGO Starwiper with Bodyguard.

Other option is to use Mandalorian mercenary with bodyguard and Tactical Jammer Both could work

Here is a list I run designed to take maximum advantage of that reroll and make serissu annoying to have to kill. The idea is to fly in a tight formation. Use PTL to take an Evade and a focus on Serissu if anyone has a shot. Wingman gets rid of the stress and all of your m3-a's fire 3x at all ranges.

Take Focus on your interceptors and they all roll 4/5 dice depending on range. Since you move first and fire last use up your focus on defense and carry them forward if your rolls allow.

You get some nice volley's going in for a joust then you can swarm around into blocking positions and then form back up and joust again.

I'm new to the game and still learning to fly but I'm really enjoying this mini-swarm.

Personally, I think it's just better to get 5 Hvy Scyks with Manglers and forget her.
