My friends and I have really enjoyed Jason Spear's Australia map the best of the home-made maps we've tried.

I've played japan twice with I enjoyed 2 player.

Hessen is the pnp map I've played the most. It's a small board but I've I remember correctly you can only build 2 track a turn, so it feels larger than it is.

Australia is good

I played lord of the rings once and that was epic.

We prefer 5, forces people into the center. With 3, you could avoid each oher completely (and what fun is that)?

If we played 3, we would probably cut off half the map, to force competition.
