Is there actually any massive ramification(s) for playing a 4 player game on both 5 player map sides rather than 3&5? The rulebook says "DO NOT" do so, just wondering if doing so opens up the gates and we shall all be consumed by the abyss...

I think it just slows down the game and reduces conflict.

Play 5 players games on ... 4 players map and you will have more fun !!
OR
Play 4 players games on ... the 3 player map and you will have a lot more fun !!
