This game looks very impressive. How long would you say a typical face-to-face game lasts?

Depends on the type of gamer....but 4-5 hours is a good bet. Sorry about the 3-4 hours. Early testing was with faster than average players.

The box says: 3-4 hours.
BGG says: 240 minutes (4 hours).

My first ftf game this weekend took: 10+ hours (to get to turn 6). soblue

Okay, I will be willing to admit that this included teaching the rules and a small lunch break. Also, I will admit that me and my buddy might suffer 'slightly' from 'AP' (Analysis-paralysis).

Given all this, I still cannot see how 10 turns will play in 4 hours.

What is your experience? Is there a 'learning curve'? How long do you average sessions take?

We are getting it done in 3 hours, now that we know the rules!

Are there shorter scenarios that will play in less than 4 hours or is the full game the only way to play?

I'm thinking of Afrika (second edition) where the full campaign is broken down into playable sub-campaigns for shorter games.

Just one scenario in the game.
