Can the game play 6 players if I have the extra dice? Or is the board too crowed?

It works fine with six, I feel. We might have had up to 8.

Some versions come with 6 out of the box. The more people playing, the more knocking of opponents dice happens.

I don't understand the phrase "too crowded."

I have dice enough for eight plus an 8-sider and 12-sider for each player. Things might get crazy but it's always fun.

We usually play with 2-player teams with more than 4, taking turns between players on a team in rotation.

Who cares about too crowded? More dice to go flying!

The only thing I'd say about 6+ players is to not have your point target be too high, or the game can drag. It's the most fun when the leader is about 20 points away from the end, so that everyone can strategize about how to position themselves. Play to 100 instead of 200 so you get to the fun point before people get distracted.
