My list is longer than I would like. My main problem is a lack of people with whom I can spend time gaming, especially ones that take over 90 minutes. Then there is that pesky lack of time factor as well, so there are even several solitaire-playable games that I haven't gotten to yet.

This list doesn't include unplayed expansions for which I have played the base game.

Myth - I set up a tile and played through part of a quest, until I realized I had placed the minis wrong. I called it there rather than start over, and I haven't gotten back to it yet.
Snowdonia - I set up the board for a solo game and played about 2 turns to get an idea of how it worked, but never played through a whole game.
Dragonscroll - I set it up and played through about half a game with a friend, at which point we ran out of time and called it.

SPQR stands out.

First I was nervous about actually punching the pieces. Later I was frustrated with the differnces between their interpretation and my interpretation of the organization of manipular double legions, and between their interpretation and my intepretation of battle dynamics, and so on.

This is a scary list...

As of right now we have 233 games (including expansions) in our collection. It is all listed on Adam's list. I only put a game on my list once I've played it. My list is presently at 66 games. That leaves 167 games and/or expansions on my pile of shame. I'm not going to dare listing them all. There really isn't enough time in the day.

My list isn't actually *too* awful. I'm not counting expansions (or games that function as expansions for other games I've played). We have:

Kiddie games for the kiddo in a few years:
Expedition Dino
Froggy Boogie
Zitternix

Games we won as raffle prizes
Climb!
Pala

Games that really have been played - just not since I started logging plays
Boggle
Checkers
Knightmare Chess 2
Monopoly: America's National Parks Edition

18xx games that I haven't found the right group for
18MEX
1835
1856

Games we should actually try to play soon
Container
Power Grid: Factory Manager (Christmas present a few years ago)
Reef Encounter (but I've played it a ton at spielbyweb - that should count for something)
Stephensons Rocket

Glad to report that we do not own any unplayed games meeple - both due to the moderate size of our collection and to our generally minimalistic approach. Again, we don't buy games which cannot play 2p and we don't consider buying something that is undesirable by one of us. All in all this (maybe it's also that there isn't much of tempting shopping opportunities here) stops us from spontaneous purchases.

And also I hate to wait and delay trying new things if I already got them laugh

But we do have some games played just once:

Mansions of Madness - this one was played over a year ago... It's a case of big imposing threatening game. It requires time and space. And time. Yet we are always saying to each other that we're eager to play it in the nearest future - theoretically shake

These were bought just recently, I don't really think it counts:

Metallum - played once, I was destroyed

K2 - I played it solo and then we played it with T.

Akrotiri - played it once and loved it, I always want to play it more but there's 10x10 challenge waitng for us whistle

And some expansions we haven't tried yet:

Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island – Voyage of the Beagle (Vol. 1) - still playing base scenarios

Tribune Expansion - got it with base Tribune: Primus Inter Pares, it requires 6p

Ghost Stories: White Moon - recent purchase

The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – The Voice of Isengard - deluxe expansion and The Ring Maker cycle

Also, the idea of teaching each other the unplayed games is just great!

Edit: mistkaes

Sadly, my husband doesnt count it as played unless it's our copy. So they are on the list, too.

We've actually moved all the games to it's own set of shelves. So, before I buy any ""NEW"" Games I need to at least get that many ""Unplayed Games"" played. Translation, our unplayed game list will hoover at about 40 for awhile.

I am not sure if I want to Tackle the Big Nasties first or the easiest ones frist. ???

From the list you posted, I would recommend Discworld, Hanabi, and Imperial Settlers. Mai-Star can also be fun if you have a big group, but I don't know that it would be very interesting with only 2 players.

I had somewhat the same idea as Karen and thought I would point to the game(s) that I thought would be easiest to try.

@weyrbrat: The Smash up expansion seems an obvious start as you already know the rules. Another easy one would be Saint Petersburg. You could download the freeware computer version of it to familiarize yourself with the rules (or just enjoy the solo play ). Pergamon can probably be explained in 5 to 10 minutes (and takes about an hour?). Assault on Doomrock is one of those games that clicks when you are playing it. Note that our first game didn't take that long either as we died in the first battle.

@partangel: I didn't want to skip anyone, but... uhm... Pixel Tactics? (We don't own this, but a friend has loaned us his copy... which we have yet to try). There are video's on Fleet. Maybe that helps?

@djsabor: Koryo can be explained and played in like 25 minutes. The hardest part are the abilities of each family.

@Rusty567: Reef Encounter obviously as you have already played it. Though it might be difficult to explain this to others. I remember this being somewhat difficult.

@1 Family Meeple: Hanabi and Belle of the Ball are pretty rule light. Last Will is also not that hard, but I am afraid that may be only after you have played it once.

@homtchr2013: Coloretto. I tried this at my work a few weeks back and I think it took like 2 minutes to explain. Fairy Tale was also explained and played in 30 minutes there.

@mebririth: Among the stars as you already know the rules. Java isn't that hard either if you know someone that happens to (almost) know the rules and also want to play this (and you do ). Also, I think you already played the Pax-expansion...

Here are ours - I only included games neither Renae or I have played, there are probably a half dozen more that I've played that Renae hasn't and even more that we've played other's copies of, but not our own.

1. Twilight Struggle
2. City of Remnants
3. Exodus Proxima Centauri
4. Hegemonic
5. Space Empires 4x
6. Terra Mystica
7. Thebes
8. Kanban
9. Castaway
10. Tobago
11. Escape Zombie City
12. Dragonology
13. Zooloretto
14. Arcana
15. New York
16. Arkiteckton
17. Key Largo
18. Lock and Key

We've actually been doing a decent job of crossing games off the To Play list, mostly because we've stopped buying so many new games. Recent games we finally crossed off our list were XCOM, Lost Valley, Luna, ans Lewis and Clark.

EDIT: Played Castways on Sunday, so got to cross it off our list! 17 more to go!

Lisa - YES! Buy two! Or three!

Here is my list of games neither Paul nor I have played:

Catan Card Game (have had this one for quite a while now...it's in Dutch, though, so it's a bit tricky for me to play...though perhaps a good learning tool)
Harbour (just got this one in the past couple months) - I have played a couple solo games now
Jambo (not sure why we haven't played it yet)
Keyflower (I even have both expansions, and still haven't played it...I think I'm dreading the teaching part)
Race for the Galaxy (I've played online and with Keldon AI a ton, but again, dreading the teaching part)
Shadows over the Empire (I'm actually trading this one to a friend in exchange for my copy of Tiny Epic Galaxies he Kickstarted for us, so I'll lose a bit of money on it; but it will go to a good home, and I'll still be able to play it in the future with my friend! There was just a bit too much ambiguity in the rules and wording that I felt would be challenging for Paul. Still, hard to let go...) - I let it go.
Takenoko (bought for the adorable look of it, and yet haven't played)
Tiny Epic Kingdoms (just haven't had a chance to play it yet) - No longer own this one, as I felt the need to cut down on unplayed games, and sold it to a very good home (the same friend who now owns Shadows over the Empire).

On top of the ones above, here are some I've played that I haven't yet introduced to Paul:

Harbour (still recent)
Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island (again, dreading the teaching part, but co-op makes it much easier to guide someone through)
Puerto Rico (this was a gift from a friend, and a game I bought more-so to play with my friends, as we went through a Puerto Rico phase... now everyone is having babies and game nights just don't seem to happen, but I still hope it will work well with just two players)
The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game (I bought this one knowing it might not be Paul's thing, and might just be a solo one for me...I hope he'll like it!)
Friday (this is a solo game, though, so that's why!)
Elder Sign (hope to introduce him to this one soon...)
Eldritch Horror (so I can then introduce him to this!)
The Castles of Burgundy (he played one round, and just didn't get it...I'm hoping he'll be more receptive to the game a second time around)

So yeah...I have no good reason to buy any new games. We have plenty of unplayed expansions to explore, too. And just plenty to explore in our games in general. I'm hoping we can catch up soon. I just think he's a lot more casual about gaming, so I don't think we could ever go above 40 games. I think even maybe this many is too much, as he has a hard time keeping rules straight when we go too long between plays. I have to remember, he isn't nearly as obsessed with board games as I am!

We only play Puerto Rico two players, using the official 2-player variant, and it works just fine. No runaway scoring either, quite pleasant as a two player game
