Got a great idea you'd like to see implemented? Post it here. This thread is for discussion of new ideas for future GFL seasons. For more info about the GFL, see http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/131371.

Better ask this before the situation comes...

Will we allow 2-point conversion after a touchdown?

Our group allows it and likes the idea. If the offense gets 2 yards, they score the points.

Thoughts?

Hmm... I hadn't realized that wasn't in the original rules. Stupid question: did 2-point conversions not exist in 1972?

Anyway, sounds good to me. What does everyone else think?

Another situation has come up: what if we make an error? Here's my idea:

If the error is caught before any further turns have been played, it may be corrected. If not, it stands.

Basically, by continuing with the next turn, both players are "signing off" on the current turn.

Moral of the story: double-check!

Here's my mistake:

I just noticed that a couple of minus signs aren't showing up in the PDF. They're in the Excel file; I'm not sure why they didn't carry over. I think they should be pretty obvious, though. Example:

Aerial 13 F: QB throws for loss -10

shows up as just

Aerial 13 F: QB throws for loss 10

It looks like all other +/-'s are showing up though. I hope this hasn't messed anyone up. Is this all right for now, or does anyone need a PDF where the minus signs show up?

Another rule my regular game group uses is:

The O/Q may declare he's making a "spike" in order to stop the clock. This works as a timeout but he loses a down by doing this.

What about using this rule on GFL?

Ok, blame me for bumping this thread, but as no one answered to my last question I need to be sure no one wants to try the spike ball variant.

Right. Sorry about not answering.

Sounds like a viable play, but let's not include it this season. I want to keep things as streamlined as possible, and not have much changing mid-season.

The charts list PAT using 15 s., but in real game there's no time lapse after a TD. Should we change PAT to a 0 s. play on the charts?

At least on all my games so far everyone used PAT as 0s. So, I vote "yes".
