A few days back on the kickstarter, the designer said he was open to suggestions for tool cards. (Also event cards)

TOOLS ALREADY IN THE GAME (for reference and inspiration)

. "Thermal Bomb" - Player may discard this to make a permanent stairs up or down from the tile his piece is on. Mark it with a "downstairs" marker. An alarm goes off in the player’s current tile when he uses this tool.

. "Dynamite" - Player may discard to destroy a wall adjacent to him. Players and guard may now pass through it. An alarm goes off in the players current tile when he uses this tool.

. "Donuts" Choose a guard, place this card under him. Next time he would move, he loses all movement and discard this card.

. "Blueprints" Discard to Peek at any one tile on your current floor.

. "Smoke Bomb" Discard to add 3 stealth to your current tile. This functions similar to the Laboratory - the stealth is only usable here.

. "Smooth Move" - Discard after rolling dice to change one of them to any side. Only usable on your dice rolls.
Invisible Suit: Discard: You cannot be seen by guards or cameras and gain +1 action this turn.
. "Virus" - Discard to add 3 Hack tokens to any Computer Room on any floor.

. "Pep Talk" - Discard to give all players on your current tile +1 stealth (including yourself).

. "Sprint" - Discard to gain +2 actions this turn.

. "E.M.P." - Remove all alarms and no alarms can trigger until your next turn.(All floors) Keep this in front of you and discard at the start of your next turn.

. "Crowbar": Discard Crowbar to permanently disable your current tile. It can no longer block or trigger alarm. This does not stop alarms that already sounded when you entered the tile.

. "Sleeping Gas" - If you are in the same tile as the guard, discard Sleeping Gas to permanently reduce his movement die by 1

For ease of access here's a short list of some tools that have been posted in other threads:
(hopefully we can come up with more and add to the list in the OP.)

TOOLS
. "Banana" - Discard to eat it and leave its peel in the room you are in. When the guard will enter the room, he will slip on it and end his move immediately. Of course, the guard will then discard the peel...

. "Changing of the Guard" - Discard this tool to see the top two (or three) cards on the patrol deck and choose which card to play. The other card(s) goes to the bottom of the patrol deck.

. "Driller" - Discard to drill a hole in the floor or in the ceiling of the room you are in, allowing you to peak at the corresponding room, one floor down or up. Maybe the noise should trigger an alarm?

. "The Grifter" - When any Event card is drawn, draw two and choose one, discarding the other. Discard this card to do one of the following: (1) move a Guard up to three spaces (2) cancel all alarms on one floor
[By Grudunza]

. "Lighter" - Discard to start a (wastepaper bin) fire in the room you are in. This will trigger an alarm hence directing the guard to this room.

POST ANY TOOL IDEAS YOU'VE GOT.

Tool - "Aren't You A Little Short For A Guard?"

[A WORK IN PROGRESS]

A very common trope in heist films/infiltration sequences is when our heroes disguise themselves as cops or guards ("Oceans 11", "The Town", "Mission Impossible", "the Wizard of Oz" and of course "Star Wars").

My suggestion is a tool (or possibly loot) that allows a single player to disguise them self as a patrol guard.

IDEAS: Perhaps the disguised player can walk right past a guard without any trouble or interact with guards ("He Went That A Way"- give a guard false info and send them to a tile of your choosing) or interact with tiles in unique ways (deadbolt's and/or keypads are no problem). Or maybe they can get a single digit from a vault combination unlocked by chatting up a guard and getting part of the combination. Not sure yet.

This card would obviously have to be restricted otherwise it would break the game. The player disguised as a guard could only move the allotted number of spaces (or perform the number of actions) appropriate for a guard on that floor so as "not to draw suspicion."

Maybe an added "Did You Hear That?" effect - if on a tile with a guard when an alarm goes off you have to inspect the alarm with the guard. Perhaps you can only use the card for one guard interaction before discarding it or you lose it when you set off an alarm or travel to a different floor.

Thoughts? Preferences?

Instead of a banana (a bit cartoony), perhaps something that has the same effect like ball bearings or marbles? The guard slips, then spends the rest of his move cleaning them up.

Or you could go with something you might commonly find in a building like floor wax or just knock over a janitor's bucket of soapy water. Call it "Slippery When Wet."

I would wonder about a possible "lockpick" or "stethoscope" tool to use to crack open a safe one number instead of having to roll a die.

Or that little light and camera on a tube you see in all the vault cracking movies of the last 15-20 years. I think it's a bronchoscope.

Might be more of an Event than a tool.

"The Fence" - You can sell one stealth token in exchange for a tool.

Marbles sound nice, better than Banana, but then... the guard won't wonder about bananas?
Slippery floor is the same... why is someone cleaning the floors... okay maybe. and forgot the warning sign... maybe the tool then should be: remove slippery warning sign.?

I've been mulling this over in my mind for a while, with the slippery (Banana/Marbles/Slippery When Wet) tool, perhaps it's better to change it to when the guard tries to leave the tile rather than enter it.

With trying to ENTER the tile, if the guard enters it on his last move, then the tool is wasted... but if he tries to leave on any move, then it's guaranteed to take at least one guard move point in the process.

Anyone know why Sleeping Gas was cut?
