I like many I'm sure, entered Mayfair's Settlers of Catan contest.
Since it would be until well into next year that we will know who
won and here about some of the varients that were submitted, I thought it would be fun to start a thread asking any of the contest participants to share their submissions now if they want.

Here is one that I submitted:

randomly effecting the local land. As players become effected by these
tornadoes, governmental assistance is on the way

Any lost roads, settlements and cities are able to be placed back on the board
on any legal placement or in a special way: Because the government cares so
much for it's fellow Catan Citizens, players may place these distressed
settletments/cities or roads next to other players or their own cities and
settlements or even one hex away. Only distressed pieces may be placed in such
a way.

lead at such a time that no futher pieces may be placed on the board.

Are the roads, villages and cities removed when just 1 field it touches is removed or when it has no field left?
I would think a village would still have 2 other fields it is on when one field is removed. Sorry, your rules are on that point not clear to me.

Cheers, Maurice

My intent was to have all roads, cities and settlements removed if
touching any hex which is removed. I also did not mention that
you can still build onto hexes which have been flipped but just
not settle there initially after the tornado ravishes your area.
