Thanks Adam. I think this will be a good thread. I'm sure I will have questions and it will be easy to ask here.

I actually already have some.

When I loaded the vsav, it said that it was created with the Origins extension but I didn't load the Origins extension because I assumed we weren't playing with it. Did I assume correctly? Or do I need to load the Origins extension as well?

Second, are we playing with any of the optional rules? For instance, do we have 4 actions available to us? Or are we playing with the extra optional actions?

Thanks!

I just happen to have the Origins extension, but I doubt we'll need it, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I wasn't planning on doing any of the optional bits. I'll have a hard enough time tracking the normal rules, let alone adding the Roadrunner action & the Genetic Drift action. Let's just stick with the basics. If it turns out to be lame, we can start over.

Awesome, thanks! I figured this was the case, but I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks Adam - Earth is a bit sparse, but looks manageable.

Are you using the one row or two rows card tableau?

We've got two rows. Given this is what our opening choices looked like:

If we only played with one, I think we'd be a bit gene poor to start with.

And the first turn has been made! We now have furry red dinosaurs! He accidently triggered the event when refilling the top row, so I created a file that removes the newly drawn biomes.

It is now Orange's turn, so let's see what those pesky mammals can do! (Ryan)

I've subscribed too, I love this game and tend to play it solitaire since I love it so!

Definitely a sparse setup. Those DinoCrocs tend to luck out with biomes evenin the worst scenarios. Good luck to all. I'm rooting for the reptiles... They tend to work out much better for me. laugh

The "setup files" were created with the other origins extension installed, but I'm pretty sure that there is nothing that was update be required from the origins extension. Thanks for using the vassal module.

Hi guys. I just finished my turn. I also realized I'm not sure who's next. Sorry it took so long to take my turn, especially because it's not very exciting. I'm still working my way through the rules and so on. But I'll be good to go by my next turn.

Also, I don't know who's next. I realized I don't know the turn order.

Lastly, I changed the file names so they are listed in sequential order. You'll see what I mean when you look in the dropbox folder. But my turn is named "002 - Orange Player." Here's the breakdown: 002 means it's the second turn in the game and the words that follow describe the turn that took place. I hope this works for everyone. If we want to use another naming system that is fine with me.

I havent played with this setup so im gonna need to quickly look over the rules tonight. Previously ive only used one row and I believe there is some different stuff going on with resolving the events when using two rows?

Ignore all events in the top row; only the bottom row triggers events.

I thought about growing to allow for more ability to migrate, and then I thought I should be aggressive and grow feathers. So there you have it.

Also the world has gotten a bit colder, killing off even more biomes. The world is a cruel place.

Back to red player.
