Looking for a game that was played during the 80's (if not before)

It involved sailing around a map of the world, stopping in different ports in different continents and collecting gold bullion.

Players could intercept you and steal your bullion ...

That's about all I know ....

Any ideas ... ?

I'm sure this wasn't it, but by some blast from the past I was reminded of The Sir Francis Chichester Game http://boardgamegeek.com/game/14336
We had this at home at some point during the late 70s/ early 80s. I think it was given to us or bought at a jumble sale or something and I'm sure it looked too boring to ever get played. I really had to drag this out of the back of my mind, I think it should probably have stayed there...
