Edit: started a geeklist to keep track of all the art and games:

The Badger's Gallery of great Art and Design in Board Games

I've recently been really impressed with games that use a more minimalist art style or art that simply looks a bit different to what most games seem to be doing these days.

Most of it has actually not been from official releases, but either from artists who make their own versions of the game or non-us releases of games.

From the brazilian version of Coup (Webersen Santiago)

User "Auberon", Lord of the Rings, the confrontation

His version of magical athelete also looks great:

Of course the glory to rome black box edition:

Anybody want to share some pics of games they love for the artwork? Especially if it's minimalist, mide-century modern inspired or in any other way stylish, unique or a bit different?

All these examples are terrific.

Also, I quite like the style of Troyes...

Yardmaster has a nice minimalist style:

Probably the opposite, the Mushroom Eaters is definitely distinctive:

I really like that. GTR black box is really nice too (though I've seen that before).

Your artwork is quite distinctive, I've seen a few of your design threads and always recognise the style.

I'd like Tod Sanders' Work even more if he used less textures... I'm a big fan of "flat" artwork but the faux-"aged paper" textures many designers use for this kind of design always buggs me... It alsways looks much better on screen than in print...

Yes, I have to admit that I've only seen it on screen. I'm tempted to make the game but since I don't own a printer at the moment it's slightly more effort...

To be honest: no, the cards look like they migth be trying to go for a certain minimalist look, but the style of line drawings clashes with the gradient in the background and the garish colourcoding.
It looks functional, but i personally wouldn't find it apppealing.

You shouldn't be able to since it's an unlicensed homebrew (though the artist seems to be selling those pouches online, by which she is infringing on the Adventure time IP...)

The artwork in Corto is taken directly from the graphic novel (which is great, btw).

Reminds me of Dark Tower.

Didn't recognise you with the new avatar... I was gonna tell you to check out some of your own games because I love the art - I guess now I can see where you get inspiration from
