Playing Monopoly is usually not too wild of an experience.

However - latest news here in Denmark proves that Monopoly can be a dangerous game of life and death!

A man had invited two friends over (all in their fifties) for a Monopoly night (more specifically 'Matador' - the danish equivalent of Monopoly).
Due to a game situationen (unfortunately not described by the articles) a fight broke out between two players, resulting in one of the men getting stabbed by the other. (Drinking was involved)

Luckily it wasn't a mortal wound, and he is out of danger.

Although a serious matter, it is hard not to be a little surprised by how crazy it all sounds.

I guess that's what happens when you act out 'Go directly to jail'-card.

Like I always say - stupid people just can't be taken lightly, no matter what they are involved in. I tend to avoid them when I can.

I don't think anyone in the universe has ever played a game of Monopoly and not wanted to stab someone during it.

Monopoly isn't the only game that pushes players too far. It doesn't have a ... um ... what's the word? I mean it doesn't have exclusive possession of those situations.

Being armed and ready to protect your assets is a prerequisite for a travelling poker player.

Board gaming is much less stressful.

I couldn't believe it when I read this story:
Quote:

Yahtzee Game Provoked Brothers Jason And Andrew Cobb To Kill Mother: Cops
Police have arrested three brothers in Minnesota for allegedly slaying their mother on Christmas because she wanted to play Yahtzee and they didn't.

The brothers are also accused of hiding their mother's remains, which were discovered buried in the family's backyard last week.

Maybe someone got a monopoly and a little bit of the rest of the sets and wouldn't trade them so other players could get monopolies. That could certainly piss someone off. Not that it isn't tactically sound.
