I was thinking about enhancing my copy of IA with some acrylic tokens for earned credits, instead of writing them down.

Any suggestions where I might find some in 50 and 100 denominations?

Just how customized would you like your credits to be?

My man and I have seriously vetted, but not pulled the trigger yet, an online company that has robotic laser cutters that can cut acrylic and etch your custom designs. The first project is free up to $20 and I don't think some credits would cost much more than that. https://www.ponoko.com/ its worth checking out if you don't find anything ready made.

Minion Games makes "Futuristic" metal coins in many denominations, including those.

Wow, you're right - star wars monopoly money is super cheap!

I also found this money clip. As the Imperial player, I could get this to help secure the extra bills so that the rebel scum don't try anything sneaky.

Oh, what an interesting thread...

I realise that the crate tokens were bad, so I bought some from Micro Art Studio... I'm don't like the terminal tokens, so trying to source them in 3D, but can't find a nice Star Wars-y set...

Never occurred to me about the lack of hard currency. Damn you!

Now I have to buy these:

http://www.miniongames.com/store/futuristic-metal-coins-50-c...

Damn

EDIT: Bought... $12 for shipping of 20 coins (10x 50, 10x 100)to Switzerland is really great.

Why did I never think about this?

I've already bought all of Wave 1 expansions including extra Troopers and Saboteurs. I've got an extra dice pack, replaced the damage tokens with small dice that fit on the minis base and painted all the Imperial forces.

Now I MUST get currency as well!

Heh, I just found my old original trilogy edition while cleaning out a closet. I planned on giving it to goodwill but now I may just salvage it for parts.

For the most die-hard people with 3D printers or via shapeways / makexyz, you could make a model of an Imperial Credit and have a bunch 3D printed.

I might try this myself.

I like the idea, because then it implies the Heroes are stealing Imperial Credits from supply crates and then using them to fund their missions.

I have 5 of those coins, plus 1 from Bespin, 1 from Alderaan, and 1 from Ord Mantell. They came from the Star Wars Monopoly collectors set. Unfortunately they are all 1000 credits coins.

In theory, with 3D printing you can change the coin denomination to anything you want.

If anyone is enterprising, Blender (http://www.blender.org/) is open source software, and just follow this tutorial to make a 3D-printable coin (essentially load the image and trace the design, creating the 3D model in the process).

You could easily change the denomination in the process of making the coin.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9k3j_YaxXo

Or if anyone is a programmer, OpenSCAD can do a depth map from any black-and-white image. If someone makes a black-and-white image of that design, it's easy to make a cylinder in OpenSCAD and load up the image and have it do a negative depth of everywhere that's black.

Throw in some gold paint, get access to a 3D Printer, and voila, cool-a** coins!

I don't have access to a 3D printer, but if anyone wants pics of the other 3 coins, I can take some after work this evening.

Seems like this acrylic gold over at Ponoko could be perfect:

Some top-down pics of the standard coin (above), would be helpful (or even better putting it in a standard computer scanner).

The pic I posted is slightly at an angle, which will make tracing inaccurate.

But above all the best is making sure it is in focus.

Very nice, would definitely consider getting credit tokens in that.

I'm really fickle. I want to buy the 25, 50 and 100 credit packs but I want them to be in bronze, silver and gold.
