I think Fjords can be played in 15 minutes once you get it down, and rat-a-tat cat can play fast, as can Blink, and Torpedo (ice house). Treehouse too. I bet Waving Hands will play in 10 minutes as well.

This list has a few:

including street soccer, brawl, micropul, and some others. Hey That's My Fish definitely counts, and would probably appeal to chess players.

Loco! is the best I can come up with. Fun for even 2, plays in 5 minutes.

Babylone is short and quick, but brain-burny... -ish.

Speed Chess is giddy good fun. Takes less than 5 minutes.

Pico 2

I second No Thanks! (Geschenkt). Also, how about Igloo Pop (very therapuetic), Diamant, or For Sale?

Dexterity games are always good for a quick diversion - Zitternix, Gulo Gulo, Tier auf Tier, Villa Paletti...

Two player Mag-Blast rarely goes past 10 minutes, it is only when you add a third or fourth player that it begins to slow down.

If the emphasis is on fun, how about Ma Ni Ki, or Crazy Circus as it is here on BGG. Plays in 5 - 10 minutes no problem since each round is only about 30 seconds. Plus you get to learn and speak another minimalist language!

For two Players: Tally Ho! and Roma.
The former quite relaxing, the latter more furious, though Roma is a case where it could end in 15 minutes but could also last for 25 minutes.

I'd recommend Schildkroetenrennen (need 3), Flix Mix (need 3), Carrousel, Gene Pool (2 only, might have to change the victory condition to get it under 10 minutes), Willy Waschsbar, Picco Gusto, Kleine Fische, and Fliegen Klatschen. And I second Tier auf Tier. Maus Nach Haus is also fun but since we play it on the (hardwood) floor, I'm not sure it'd work in an office environment.

I don't see how Roma, No Thanks (need 3), or even Loco! (need 3) would be playable in 5-10 minutes. Our games often go a half hour (or more, in Roma's case) and the endgame is crucial in each case.

I don't want to argue with Sue (I agree that No Thanks needs 3 and Roma is too long for what you want), but Loco! works well with 2 players. If you just play one round, it's a 5-minute game -- and one round is satisfying enough (for a 5-minute game).

Oh, thought of another: Raj. You can play it with a regular deck of cards, too.
