I have two different variants on mind. I think with such minis it would have been a waste not to have a good battle system. This doesn't mean I hate the game. I like it, it is just that I am more war oriented in my gaming sessions.

Kingdoms of Megara (title added the 23rd of March) my first variant. This variant adds a central board game. Each player has its board and all boards are connected between players. In order to defend a territory now you will need to be into that territory. In each area there are now one ressource place and one building place. There is few changes of the game system, there are slight modifications of the rules in order to accomodate with the small changes.

I have given each unit a combat rating. There are some fixes in order to modify exploration, combat, worker movement, win the last battle etc...

Necessary components:
The board comes in 5 parts
The Egyptian

The Greek
The Norse

The Rules:

Units value

This has been downloaded 332 times. This file can be used using the classic Age of Mythology game. Too bad 332 download and NO comment!!

The battle Board

I am also using the buildings tile made by ??? which adds the building cost on it.

Pillars of Hercules (title added the 31st of March) is a treatment like Axis and allies D-day or Battle of the Bulge or the War of the ring battle of the third Ages. Lots of minis, a battle board, and a battle or a war to win. I am designing the boardgame at the moment.

My basic idea under these two variants is to offer a complete game with just a new board and modified rules.

I would like to receive some feedbacks about these ideas, what do you think?

and What are yours?

Re: Heavy Age of Mythology Variants
Hi Ubirata,

I am happy to see this pleases you.

My pictures are a variant for the first Variant which is a more war oriented AoM game which keeps most of the original gameplay. It is still playtested in house. I post the boardgame parts and gamerules when I will be happy with the playtest.
From now on, the friend I played with found this approach interesting. He requested me more plays although he was very happy with the basic game.

Re: Heavy Age of Mythology Variants
Hello Alessandro,

This is exactly What I meant. I found the city name of Megara could well illustrated the AoM variant.

Kingdoms of Megara, nice titles no?

The files are still not presented here even if I have uploaded them yesterday. This may take a while.

Re: Heavy Age of Mythology Variants - Addition of a board -
Hello Alessandro,

No problem you can post them in Italian. Make sure your traslation comes from the English rules which are more detailed thant the french one.

The boards have been uploaded. There are three boards for each civilization. In order to play whether at two or three players it is mandatory to make 2 printing for each board, for a total of six printings.
As you will have to cut 3 boards in oder to make areas around each player boards. Size is A3, you can not make it on a basic personnal printer!

I am eager to hear feedback from the players who will play Kingdoms of Megara.

And thanks for your compliments.

Have a nice day!

Re: Heavy Age of Mythology Variants - Addition of a board -
Strange the upload of the central board didn't work. I upload them once again.

A few words regarding these central boards. They are not as perfect as I wanted them to be. As time goes on I hope I will take sometime to improve them.
I have uploaded a revised edition of the Egyptian central board. I have added directly one of the starting tile in home territory. There is also a change of the police for territories.

I think there are already some people who got the rules, what do you think about them? any comments?
