I will be at AnimeBoston this weekend, so I'll be a bit quieter on the forums. We'll be releasing .84 Monday, which should include an art for every card (or almost every card), including a few revisions from previous arts.

The only big change in 0.84 is that Tailor becomes "Return any number of cards from your hand, then draw to your pickup area, up to a hand of five(including pickup area)."

Thank you to everyone for testing out our game! It's been great to hear feedback of people having fun. And your comments have helped us tinker away and make changes to make the game better, like the prayer change.

Meanwhile, I made a game called Meow. Which is probably my finest work to date. Meow!

Yes, it would seem to be ideal target group for this game

I prefer somewhat heavier games , at least We Didn't Playtest level

Can I ask you to continue doing as you have with the PDF - to make the last iteration or two's card changes available on the final page of the PDF? I can't print things out in colour anymore, and have to rely on friends, so keeping that printing to a minimum really helps.

Nice!

A little more tempo and bigger incentive for the Tailor action.

I'm looking forward to playing the new version with my play group on Monday. Hopefully it will be up by then.

Today I played a couple 0.83 games with the new Tailor rule. This makes the game feel even more strategic since you can more reliably have certain tasks or materials in your hand. It reduces the frustration of being stuck with 2 Clay works and needing a 3rd to build one. Sales majorities are even more important because you know other players will most likely have cards that score in their hand.

Nope, not yet.

Apologies, still not done with this.

I spent a lot more of today dealing with fallout from Penny Press being held up by customs than I planned to!

We did a full pass on card wording, unifying terminology so that a Smith(or Tailor, etc) task consists of one or more Smith actions. This should help understandability of cards overall! Also we've got art for all cards now, though some will still change.

I need to update the rules to reflect the new terminology, still.

Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars, where you will be forced to drift aimlessly farther into the vast, empty abyss of space until a lack of food, water and oxygen causes you to succumb to Death's cold embrace.

And remember to rename Prayer to Pray!

Looking forward to this next version and hoping to have it by Tabletop Day on Saturday to get a few plays in. I think one of the problems right now is when you have a full hand of works that you cannot create and no way to get rid of them because no one is smithing early in the game. All you can do is prayer often and play those cards as tasks hoping for better draws soon (or ones that at least work with your hand). If everyone is just praying though, this leaves you with a very slow play (especially if the floor is empty). I'm hoping the changes to Tailor will fix this a bit!

v0.84 is uploaded!

http://asmadigames.com/MottainaiPnP.pdf

Sorry for the delay. We've change wording on most of the cards to be clearer.

A task now consists of multiple actions, this is not a gameplay change but a terminology change. I think it will be much easier to understand this way.

Tailor now includes the ability to return any number of cards beforehand.

Coin was clarified to prevent double-doubling with Kite or 4+ player games.

All arts are included now, and several cards were renamed and re-arted to be more thematic!

Hey Chris,

Looks good after a quick glance over, though I noticed a couple of minor things. First, the version still says v0.83 at the top. Second, it looks like the player mats have not been updated to reflect the new Tailor behavior.

Looking forward to trying out the latest version.

Quite a big change for Pin!

It used to allow you to draw up to your hand size, 'in the morning' now you may take a tailor action 'in the morning' - meaning you now have the additional option to craft with cloth, before you've even chosen your task for your turn. Could be interesting.

If anyone works up a changelog, you know, so I don't have to reprint and cut all 54 cards, could you please post it here?

Oh right! Pin changed.

Pin is the only card that had a significant gameplay change.

The rest were all wording re-adjustments.
