Ready to discover new worlds?!

One day, while working on Exoplanets board game (well we are cosmos lovers) we asked ourselves:
“What if we can expand theme of the game, that will be not only theme attached to game, but to make players think about cosmos and participate in real discoveries. Modern technology and programs allows us to be part of research!”

Our first step was to involve you to our pre-premiere game, in which you can feel and have fun of react in our, we called, BGG universe of Exoplanets game. You can made discovers, receive resources, create life cooperating.

Second step we are entering in this event is inviting you all further and show you that you can really do, what we are doing here and what can effect on real life (maybe except entering wormholes or creating life on other exoplanets … at least for now .

You have created enthusiastic community which wanted to do more, and we are proud of this. Now we want to show you how we can evolve our fun on effecting real research and still having fun in our BGG Exoplanets universe

We are still in Wormhole3… We have found death star, but decided to stay here to see if there is some exoplanets, where we can search for some resources. It will be our last task here so we can go to Wormhole2.

TASK:
Your task in this event will be classify potentional exoplanets on data receiving from the NASA's Kepler spacecraft for the characteristic drop in light due to an orbiting extrasolar planets (exoplanets) crossing in front of their parent stars!

How to do that:
Thanks to Planethunters.org website which was launched by zoouniverse we all can participate in research of exoplanets. "Approximately every 30 minutes, Kepler monitors the brightness of many thousands of stars simultaneously for the signature of exoplanets via the transit technique. Visitors to the Planet Hunters' website are asked to draw boxes to mark the locations of these dips on the star's light curve (measurements of the the star's brightness over time). The depth of the transit and how often it repeats tells us about the relative size of the planet and its orbital period (how long the planet's year is)". And for now planethunters project is very succesfull, here is some info from website:

“Back then we didn't know what we would find. The project was a gamble on the ability of human pattern recognition to beat machines just occasionally and spot the telltale dip from a transiting planet that was missed by automated routines looking for repeating patterns. It may have been the case that no new planets were discovered and that computers had the job down to a fine art.

The gamble paid off. The original Planet Hunters project discovered a bounty of unknown planet candidates and several confirmed planets, resulting from the efforts of nearly 300,000 volunteers worldwide.”

What you have to do is:
1)Sign up on Planethunters.org
2)Click Classify
3)Go through few easy steps instruction how to markt drop in light

Help discovering exoplanets!

What is your target and reward:
This time it is not about number of thumbs or comments. In this event we want to help in research. All participators who do at least 40 classiffications and post them here, will recive 3 of any recources – you can choose! ex. water, water, sun OR sun, sun, athmosphere OR any combination

Then go to your page profile by clicking here

and do PrtSc of your number of classify as i did i my first commnet

Just post PrtSc form your profile and choose which 3 recources you want to recive.

Zoouniverse give us ability to participate in other project like:
- Explore the surface of the Moon
- Match growing black holes to their jets

And more… But we will keep that for our in some upcoming events 
Have fun guys!

Time to look up!
