I don't know if I have seen anyone mention this so I will.

I use my armytransport battalion case for transporting my board game to conventions and events.

here is a link to some more pictures of it

The ARMYTRANSPORT Battalion is a Miniature figure case that has a telescoping handle and wheels for travel. It has several outside pockets and an adjustable shoulder strap with a shoulder pad. you can them from Sabol designs http://www.saboldesigns.net/armytransportbattalion.php

or on eBay they are usually around 50$

anyway, its somewhat weather proof nylon, padded and can be carried on a plane as a carry on bag. the only downside is that it is only 22" deep which means that the FFG big box games like Descent will fit in, but not close on top.

hope this helps or gives other an idea.

Poison and swords carried on a plane as hand luggage. You are destined for a long wait in a small room off the departure lounge.

For serious weekend sessions I use a large wicker picnic type hamper. It can hod 12 games without breaking a sweat and can take the knocks without the contents getting damaged. A Christmas hamper from Fortnum & Mason is ideal once the contents have been drunk/ eaten.
