The map looks really beuatiful but on one of the pictures it looks like the material is rather thin paper. Can anybody tell me something about the quality of the map material?

I looked at your profile, Andreas, but you don't have anything there. I was hoping to say - like this or not like that...

It is fairly heavy duty for a paper map (a little more sturdy than say a GMT map - but also more folds in it -MMP likes to fold as many times as possible - I think it is sort of a challenge for the guys - like "Do Not Fold" to postman (just kidding there MMP - actually their boxes are slightly too small for 34 by 22 maps. I am working on this with MMP).

Almost a thick wax paper type consistancy. Wargamers, try as I have again and again, just don't want hard backed maps.

Fits (a little play on words there...) great in a 3 by 2 poster frame from Walmart. $10 and it works great.

It seems to be pretty sturdy paper. It is coated, which should help.

Mounted maps are great, what I don't want is large boxes (i.e., I'll take the folds over a box that doesn't fit on the shelf).

Thanks for the info. Even if I had more in my profile it would not had helped much as I am more of a eurogamer...
Albeit I play more Euros I love elegant wargames, like FITS seems to be one. The only references with paper maps I have is a huge pile of blockgames (Columbia),Twilight Struggle and Battle for Germany (GMT)...
