The original list was most likely taken down due to threats of litigation against BGG.

Of course. Why shouldn't we expect those who break the law to abuse it with threats of malicious litigation too? Apparently those who are antisocial enough to steal are also antisocial enough to sue when they face any form of consequences for their actions...or at least threaten to sue. Surely for their legal case to have a chance they would have to prove that the statements against them were false.
