This game will be a throwback to the short games of yesteryear. I had an absolute blast playing in them, and I hope you will, too.

9 players. No theme -- we don't need no stinkin' theme! There are bad monsters looking to rip out your throats. That's good enough. The game will start as soon as it has filled. It will not be played over the weekend.

Rule #1: If you cannot be around to play this game, then please do not sign up.

Important Times

- Lynch will be at 7:00pm BGG time.

- Night orders are due by 9:00pm BGG time. Failure to submit night orders will result in a forfeiture of your action for that night. Don't pull a "Royalwulf" and forget to submit. Enter your orders early, and revise them as often as you like.

Posting and Private Messages

- Only the wolves have a chat room. All other players have a "mod chat" with Cassie, in which some of you will be submitting orders (priest, seer, sorcerer) using the order system.

- NO POSTING TO THE THREAD AT NIGHT. You are all on the honor system here.

- No posting after death, not even the obligatory zombie post. Again, you're on the honor system since this is an auto-mod game.

- THIS IS A META-INFORMATION-FREE GAME. Do not make reference to players' behavior in prior games. No saying, "So-and-so acted the same way in such-and-such game when she was evil," or "so-and-so always acts this way." No targeted behavioral data mining via Cassie. If you do such things in your spare time in the privacy of your own home, then that's your decision. Just don't try to use these arguments to convince someone else on the public thread. You can publicly state that you have "a hunch," and leave it at that. Your "hunch" is just as valid as anyone else's.

You can make generalizations based upon your own experience, such as "Wolves usually throw a distancing vote on each other early on D1." My intent is for you all to spend your time playing this game, and not trying to profile each other using information from outside of this thread.

- The use of scripts is allowed. If you care enough about contributing to this game to pre-load some content that otherwise would not be posted, then go ahead and do so. If you mess it up (for example, having contextually-outdated content in your post) and you get voted out for it in retaliation, then you'll have only yourself to blame. As a progenitor-moderator, I'd rather have more participation than less.

Voting

- The deadline minute will count. Votes posted at 7:00pm will affect the tally. Votes posted one minute later will not.

- Players may vote for nightfall. If a majority of players vote for nightfall such that the outcome is assured, then it will be done. You cannot change your vote, or unvote nightfall once you have done so.

- Any ties will be broken by the longest held last vote.

Roles

Good

Seer: may view one person each night to learn wolf/non-wolf. Receives a random, negative, N0 view.

Priest: may view one deceased person each night to learn his or her role. EXCEPTION: Will view the hunter as "villager."

Hunter: if the hunter finds himself in the final two with a wolf, then the hunter kills the wolf, and the village wins. If viewed by the priest, will be revealed as "villager."

White Hat: when killed or lynched, will be revealed in the public thread as "white hat." This player is unaware of her own status as the white hat.

Villager (2): standard wolf bait players unfettered from any special abilities other than their keen senses of deduction, and possessing their powerful votes!

Evil

Wolves (2): may submit the name of one person who will be killed each night. Have unrestricted PM rights with each other, day and night.

Sorceror: may view one person each night to learn seer/non-seer. Receives a random, negative N0 view. Wins if the wolves win, loses if they are both killed.

Victory Conditions

The village wins if they lynch both Wolves.

Evil wins if the number of the Wolves reaches parity with the number of non-Wolf players (including the Sorceror).
Please limit posts made after you have been killed, since there is no
moderator on duty to police such things, it would be better to refrain

Notice:
The Automod system is in Beta Testing. There may be unexpected or strange errors or results or things may change from game to game, so make sure you always read the rules. Please direct any concerns, questions, or improvment suggestions to Melsana or Jmilum.

Important Information:
Tiebreaker: longest held last vote
Lynch time: 7:00pm
Night Action Deadline: 9:00pm
Weekend Policy: This game will not run over the weekend.

This game will start when full.

Beowulf, you should play this time! Anyone cool enough to have Frost overtext must be interesting to play with...

With Trigirl being this lock consensus good read for so many people, I find it really bizarre that she's alive. Just don't lock clear her for tone. There's a threshold where if she's still alive she should probably just be murdalated.

Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I’ve tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice.

Waaaaaaaaaa! Too late.

For future reference: what is a good time? I checked the lynch times of some of the other, larger games that are currently underway, and saw that there were times of 5:00 PM, 7:59 PM, and 9:00 PM (all times BGG). I thought this time selection would allow people to commit to this game.

7-9 (8) is best for me. Hun. Interesting to know that there are a bunch of games with late lynch times going.

I agree. Late lynches are better for me.

Beowulf, I think the lynch time that appeals to the broadest range of people is 4 or 5, but 9ers don't really need to attract a ton of people...

For me, Noon to 4PM BGG are the best times. This is really going to vary among the community.

The Cassandra Automatic Vote Tally System

Your Moderator has enabled the Cassandra Automatic Vote Tally system
for this game. In order for it to function correctly, your votes will
need to be formatted correctly. The following rules will explain what
you will need to do:

Players
1. All votes must be bolded

2. The entire vote statement must be bolded and enclosed in brackets:
[vote jmilum]

3. If your game allows, and you [vote nightfall] your vote will
be locked. Your moderator may have disabled nightfall votes.

4. Vote tallies will be automatically posted to the game thread
regularly if the tally has changed. The Tally and Vote Logs (for each
game day) are also available on the Cassandra game page.

5. If your vote is not counted be sure to check the Vote Log page and
see if it was marked invalid and why.

6. Case does not matter and simple typos will not cause the vote to fail.

7. You may [vote no lynch] if your game allows it.

8. Non voting players will be listed in the tallies. This will only be
correct if the Moderator notes which players have been killed (see below)

9. Editing a vote post will invalidate the vote and it will not be counted.

Moderators
1. The moderator will need to post [Dawn] when the day begins
(after the night results are posted) and [Dusk] when the lynch
deadline has passed and the day is over. Votes will not be counted
after [Dusk] has been posted. They will be registered again
after [Dawn] is next posted.

2. You may include a day number in the dawn and dusk post for
informational purposes, but it will not be used by the system.
Cassandra will increment an internal counter each time it sees
[Dawn] no matter what day is shown in a dawn post (i.e.
[Dawn 3] the three is allowed but ignored)

3. After dusk has been posted, the Moderator may go to the game page
on Cassandra to request a Final Tally to be posted before the normal
scan period has elapsed (i.e. Game Y gets scanned at 45 min. after the
hour, if it lynches at 7pm the moderator may request a tally to be
posted from the game page before 7:45pm. it will also be posted
regardless of whether or not it has been changed since the last
posting) - Do this by clicking on the 'Force Vote Tally' link.

4. You will need to note which players were killed via the lynch or at night by
either posting [killed jmilum] in the thread, or by going to the game
page and editing the player list. When posting in the thread, be sure to post
[dusk] before posting the lynch kill, and post [dawn] before
posting the night kill.
Example:
A. lynch time has passed so post [dusk]
B. goto the game page and select a final tally to be posted
C. check the final tally and post [killed melsana]
D. after the night deadline has passed post [dawn]
E. post the night kill with [killed kima]

Your Moderator has chosen to use the Longest Held Last Vote method for a tiebreaker - This is just for Cassandra system, and there may be a different tiebreaker specified by your Moderator in the ruleset.
