Coming from the Backgammon community, I prefer to play all dice included games with precision dice. I will here take full credit for popularizing casino dice to the great miniatures venue Assgard games in Houston, Tx. I have looked into precision dice for the Command and Colors system, which my gaming circle is heavy into. I purchased blank precision dice from Games Science thru the Dice Online website, made stickers and used a ½ inch punch to remove the images. I would recommend sanding the belly button off the dice – use the 1000 to 2000 grit paper with water technique I saw on American Restoration – and you can see the dull finish on one of the blanks in the photo. The need for better dice was apparent when we played Conquest of the Empire and there is so much of the trireme image gouged out we were rolling 50% ship hits. As if there isn’t enough tension in Settlers of Catan, I always insist on precision dice.

We've had many discussions on precision dice in the general forums and in the wargame forums. I hope we won't see them repeated in the forums for every game that uses dice.
