I,have problems understanding the role of Helo.
Since he receives a cylon card in the beginning, he is a cylon.
So why not throw that player in the brig from the beginning.
Where is the fun in playing Helo?
Or habe i,missed something?

What do you mean that he receives a Cylon card in the beginning? He receives a loyalty card like every other character which might be human or cylon.

Helo's only down-side is that he doesn't get to do anything on his first turn. Once you get to turn 2, he has no drawback, so he's actually great if things haven't completely gone to frak by then.

I have no idea what you're talking about with him being a Cylon.

Do you maybe mean Baltar? Baltar starts with an extra Loyalty card but I've seen many many games where they're both "Not A Cylon" cards...

You can't throw Helo in the Brig at the very beginning, since he's off the board and can't be moved anywhere.

Also, as others have already said, Helo isn't necessarily a Cylon at the very beginning.

I am confused...

in the rules it is stated:

"Carl “Helo” Agathon has two Loyalty Cards, one “You Are a Cylon” card and one “You Are Not a Cylon” card. Since he has at least one “You are a Cylon” card, he is a Cylon player. He may reveal himself on his turn (as an action) to perform the special ability listed on his Loyalty Card. If he does so, he becomes a revealed Cylon player (see below)."

That's not the rules, it's an example in the rules to show how if you have one You Are A Cylon card and one You Are Not A Cylon card, the one that says you are overrides the other, and you are a Cylon for all game purposes.

In answer to your original question, though...you play him AWESOME! Which primarily seems to be sitting him in front of the Big Red FTL Button and pushing it repeatedly.

At least, that's been my experience playing him.

And Armory, if necesary. I like him, his 'sitting in one place' is always situationally dependent.

Helo is even more awesome when he XOs someone else in the Armory.

Well the advantage of him doing it himself is that it doesn't require an expenditure of a card, let alone the trust issue. But yes, all the more reason for at least one cylon to remain hidden.
