"This is a really weird game, and you’ll find that most people will not want to play this."

Maybe someone with more intimate knowledge of IBL can chime in, but I notice in the IBL.org site that the last available season was 2013 (released in 2014) and now this Platinum Series game comes along, looking a LOT like Pursue The Pennant/Dynasty League/IBL. Is this resemblance intentional? Did this game somehow "replace" IBL or cop the rights to the format? Because it looks highly similar:

Platinum Series Baseball:

Pursue The Pennant:

Dynasty League:

There isn't anything new under the sun here. All they've done is stolen the Dynasty League system, paid a bunch of money for the MLBPA license, and are trying a cash grab with the collectible card game format. They want you to shell out $35 for 30 random players or spend $125 for the single season they have available. Dynasty League charges $50 for the same thing but have decades of seasons available. None of the people affiliated with the company are board game designers, let alone gamers. They all created new BGG accounts in April when they launched their crowdfunding campaign...

This is a complete rip-off of the IBL, with gussied up artwork. A lot of the material is taken verbatim from the IBL website and Constitution. I'd seriously doubt that they acquired any rights from MLB, and they most certainly didn't from the IBL.
