Chose to play with Challara & Brightblaze:

Strength 5 - Dexterity 7 - Armour 5 - Luck 7

Special Abilities:
- Can discard a chosen dungeon tile and replace with another
- If more than 8 wounds acquired, can inflict maximum one damage to monster

Heading out from the tower Challara found a corridor to nowhere, so she turned back through the tower, over a bridge and into an empty room. Heading through another corridor she entered into a seemingly empty room, but triggered a crossfire trap, taking 1 HP damage from the arrows.

The next room held a Golem. Challara took another 2 HP damage evading the monster, stumbling onto 120 GP in the room she escaped into.

Passing through a rotating room, she stumbled upon a dead adventurer. A search revealed nothing. She is now only a short distance from the Dragon's Lair.

The next room turned out to be pitch black and Challara accidentally stumbled back into the room she had just left, triggering a swinging blade trap which she narrowly avoided.

In the next room, the ceiling collapsed, but luckily it did not impede her progress. One door remained between her and the Dragon's Lair.

Slipping through the door and into the Dragon's Lair she found the Dragon Sleeping. Challara quickly stuffed a Jeweled Chaka and a Rune Scarab into her pockets, worth a total of 750 GP.

Deciding against pushing her luck and waking the Dragon, Challara left the Lair, passing through an empty room. In the next room a portcullis slammed shut behind her and she was attacked by a Razorwing, causing another 2 HP damage (7 HP left).

Passing through a crypt, where she discovered an unstable potion, Challara found another 70 Gp in an otherwise empty room. With only 9 spaces between her and the exit she stumbled into a room with a Lingering Shade, which attached itself to her. This malevolent spirit could cause her death at the beginning of any turn (on a 2-3 roll on 2D6). She headed through a corridor and into another empty room. With only 7 spaces to go to freedom, the Lingering Shade turned on her resulting in her instant death!

Final Outcome: Killed by Lingering Shade 7 space from the exit with 940 GP in pocket.

I pimped out this game a little bit with a yellow cube to replace the sun marker and some small pathfinder minis to replace the monster markers.

Nice to see my nemesis the "Swinging Blades" again, killed me in my last game on the way out.

I have also been killed by the shade...one space away from the tower.

While I do love deep and strategic games too, sometimes you just want to take your chances in a deadly dungeon!

Heh, had to actually check the images for the new characters to see if they'd changed Challara's ability. Turns out she is the same as she was in the 3rd edition, but seems like people are still reading her ability wrong (or typo). It's not dungeon tile swapping, it's dungeon card and only dungeon card. Should allow her to avoid most monsters up top, but in the Catacombs, she has no positive ability.

Challara is still one of the strongest characters, her low health the only downside. But it's more of a balancing factor to her special ability.
She has decent stats, otherwise and can still survive the catacombs because of her high luck.

She, and Brother Gherrin probably have the best survival rate.
