My copy finally arrived yesterday so decided to give it a solo playthrough on easy before trying a game with friends this weekend. Rolled a d6 to decide the number of counselors and then drew that many. First one got the keys. Then shuffled the chosen ones and dealt them out to work out their play order. I set up a spread sheet to take notes so there's a lot of detail here.
Jody - Search the Cabin & Gimme
Sherry - Improvise & Skedaddle
CJ - Desensitized & Diversion
Karen (keys) - Scrappy, Don't, Scream for Help & Desperation
Thinking that at least at the start while Otis was weak it would be best to split up and grab objectives quickly, Jody headed through the Little Cub Cabin towards the stables. He Searched the Cabin, finding an Acoustic Guitar which would help in a pinch.
Sherry went the opposite direction to the Bunny Cabin but Otis dragged her Into the Woods. Luckily she was able to Improvise and fended him off with a tree branch.
CJ thought he'd follow Sherry to see what happened, not a good idea since Otis Struck him too! Thinking quickly though, he caused a Diversion and managed to sprint all the way to the Girl's Shower. Karen & Jody capitalised on CJ's good fortune and got to the Sports Cage and Stables respectively (played this wrong - noticed the "all cabins" so I didn't move Sherry in the Woods but did move the other two despite them being at the Campfire, not in a Cabin).
Karen didn't find any useful items in the Sports Cage, but she did steel herself up to Get a Grip. She then headed back to the Li'l Cub Cabin where she found a Meat Cleaver.
Despite seeing CJ run towards the Girl's Shower, Jody's inane playing of Kumbaya on his new found guitar infuriated Otis and he lumbered towards him into the Dining Hall.
Jody moved further into the Stables, finding a Crank discarded next to a bale of hay. He then moved back towards the door and found a Baseball Bat propped up behind it. Figuring it would last longer than the guitar he clutched it firmly in his hands.
Fortunately Sherry was a keen Orienteer and quickly found her way through the woods to the Beaver Cabin. She continued on to the Commons where she picked up some Rope. Hearing a creepy howl, she looked out the window and noticed there was a Blood Moon out tonight.
CJ saw a glint on the other side of the Girl's Showers. Moving over to investigate, he wondered what on earth Morris' Keys were doing back there. Not wanting to risk the woods, he headed back to the other side of the cubicle. A chill passed over him and he had a Premonition of Sherry being stalked and having to Keep Finally Still.
Karen moved through the Game Room, rummaging through the boxes where she found a Car Battery.
Attracted by the noise, Otis kept creeping through the Dining Hall.
Jody decided that with a crazy pyschopath on the loose, now would be a good time to get over his anti-social tendencies and join Karen in the Game Room. Unfortunately when he got there, he noticed the dead body in the Swivel Chair.
Feeling lonely too, Sherry made her way into the Beaver Cabin en route to the others. Then she heard something, it looked liked CJ's Premonition was coming true. She decided to Hide under a bunk but it was dusty and she sneezed! In a blind Panic, some instinct told her to head through the Girl's Shower, running past CJ towards the Ranger Tower.
Hoping the coast was clear, CJ headed back to the Bunny Cabin and found another Car Battery.
Realising that they could actually all get out of this together, Karen made her way towards the Ranger Tower too. As she got the Dining Room though, she noticed a comfy but secluded area outside, and despite the signs saying to Keep Off the Grass thought it would be the perfect place for her and CJ to start Foolin' Around. Just as they were getting started though, a voice inside her told her Don't! and they reluctantly stopped.
Meanwhile, Otis reappeared in the Buck Cabin, invigorated by his previous kill and stalked towards The Campfire.
Still feeling spooked, Jody hurried along to the Dining where he found a dishevelled Karen and CJ blushing furiously. Whilst nobody could quite remember who actually thought "Let's Split Up" was a good idea, Sherry was the only one Tempting Fate by wondering off on her own. Caught unawares in the Girl's Shower with no weapons at hand, she couldn't avoid Otis' attack, which left her running screaming towards the group, only reaching the Bunny Cabin.
Seriously wounded now, Sherry kept limping through the Bunny Cabin towards her friends, when she noticed that she'd dropped her Rope. Fearing Otis was still hot on her heels, she decided to "Leave It" and found a hidden reserve of energy to get into the Dining Hall.
Hearing her frenzied explanation, CJ went back to the Bunny Hall himself to get the Rope. Upon returning to the Dining Hall he heard the rustle of Twinkie wrappers, and found Lunchbox gorging himself behind a table.
Karen decided to scout ahead, moving to the Swimming Area where she found a much needed Bandage!
Singing softly to himself, Otis followed after the retreating Sherry.
In spite of his niggling suspicion that he interrupted something between Karen and CJ, Jody decided to keep following her. Once he arrived in the Swimming Area, he spotted a Rotary Phone which he grabbed.
Having already survived three attacks with no weapons, Sherry finally worked out that arming herself properly would be a good idea, luckily for her she managed to find a Crowbar which she vowed she would put to good use if Otis crossed her path again.
Seeing that Sherry was now armend, CJ kept moving towards the boats. As well as finding Karen and CJ in the Swimming Area, he also found Kimberly who had somehow avoided the madman so far.
Feeling sorry for Sherry and knowing there was strength in numbers, Karen ran back to bandage her up before moving on, ready to board the Boat. It looked like Kimberly hadn't been alone, when little Don appeared too.
Despite his prey almost being to safety, Otis kept shuffling through the Bunny Cabin.
Having already got to the Boat, Jody could do nothing but wait with Karen for the other two to catch up. Not content with having the fun end so soon however, Otis Struck!. Seeing Otis appear in the cabin next to her, Karen immediately Screamed for Help which brought CJ and Sherry running in to help. Pushing the others behind her Karen easily fended off Otis' half-hearted attack with her Meat Cleaver while CJ Coached from the other side of the room.
With the way clear and the gang all present the group jumped into the Boat and set off.
And then, disaster struck, with a weak splutter the engine died and the gang could see Otis diving into the water. With no other choice they all jumped in too...
Despite them all being healthy, Otis had an inhuman burst of speed, almost catching them right away. A tiring Sherry then got left behind, only just fending off Otis with her Crowbar before swimming like crazy. CJ and Karen were still going strong but Jody was foundering. Luckily he was still well armed and managed to distract Otis with the guitar. Still fearing for her life, Sherry had another burst of speed leaving the others far behind. Unfortunately for her, that took it out of her entirely and Otis soon caught up with her and dragged her to the bottom. Seeing their comrade's gruesome end, the others swum like crazy, leaving Camp Grizzly far behind...

This is why I love this game. Anybody with even a small sense of storytelling can turn this simple little game into the script for a legit show. I'm really waiting for somebody to actually make a short film following the gameplay out in the woods... Maybe after it warms up a little bit.
Cool - I thought the box made it a "space" as opposed to a cabin. Felt pretty simple to win but given it was easy setup and I was playing solo it's not surprising. The fact that I could decide that people would potentially sacrifice themselves for each other and work as a team as opposed to prioritising their own survival made it a lot more efficient.
