A month or so ago I was fairly surprised to discover that ToysRUs is carrying Carcassonne. Just the basic version, but still.

In there today, and they have Blokus Duo, and Blokus. Okay.

But the big shocker for me was to see Settlers of Catan on the shelf.

Of course, I believe perhaps this means no member of BGG can play these games anymore as they've become too mainstream

Wow, that's fantastic. I've never seen Settlers or Carcassonne in a mainstream store, but I know I'd celebrate the day if I ever did!

Well, in case you're interested, I just saw Settlers at Barnes & Noble in Richmond, California last friday.

I'm gonna guess she means somewhere in the Vancouver area! If only our TRU's had Nexus OP and the other AH games that are cool.

Some TRUs in the states had those. I know the Wilkes Barre PA store did for a while last summer, but they seem to have stopped carrying them already.

I saw Settlers in Edmonton TRU as well. Didn't see Carcasonne. I'm tempted to buy a copy of Settlers just to ensure a few copies sell. It would be nice to see more than Candyland and Monopoly on the shelves.

I saw Carcassonne at the TrU in Orange Park, FL last month - it was a surprise to me too.

Ran across the basic blue Carcassone at the TRU locally in Lima, Ohio as well. It's a start.

I haven't seen it in Gatineau, but I've seen Carcassonne and Settlers of Catan at the TRU in Ottawa.

I think it is because they would need to get the French version and it's not the same supplyer.

I've also seen in Archambeault in Gatineau Carcassonne, and a few others including Railroad Tycoon! I remember there was something like 10-12 euro games available!

I was looking for Nexus Op, Vegas Showdown or Monster Menace America, but no, none was there. I was hoping to be able to get one for less than 25$.
